About Daniel Callahan

South West Florida Counseling and Therapy is located in South Fort Myers Florida and founded by Daniel “Dan” Callahan.  Dan is a Masters level Social Worker and Masters Certified Addiction Professional with a human service career spanning over thirty years.  He attained his Masters of Social Work degree at Fordham University, Lincoln Center in New York City in 1997 and holds licensing and credentialing in New York and credentialled in the State of Florida.  

He is the author of two recovery books titled “Freedom Recovery, a Workbook for Residential Treatment” and “Recovery Thinking, 90-Days to Change Your Life” and co-authored a training curriculum for the New York State Office of Mental Health, Bureau of Forensic Services.  Dan has held therapeutic, administrative and executive positions with not-for-profit and private rehabilitation programs during the span of his career.
 
Dan is a respected professional across the Nation, was integral in the development of several statewide initiatives in the State of New York, has been a Case Manager, Counselor, Therapist, Clinical Director, Program Director, Executive Director, and CEO of Human Service programs in New York, Florida and Panama Central America.  Dan is also the Co-Founder of ZenCharts an Electronic Health Record software system designed for Behavioral Health agencies across the country.
